Florida Panhandle Beaches in February vs. Southern Beaches
Most travelers know that Florida beaches stay relatively warm during the colder parts of the year. That said, it’s important to note that some portions of the Sunshine State have higher temperatures during the month of March than others.
It’s important to keep in mind that beaches in the panhandle portion of the state, like those in Panama City or Destin, have colder temperatures than beaches in the southern part of the state.
This phenomenon is explained by the fact that Florida’s southern beaches are warmer because they are closer to the equator.
While the panhandle is lucky to see high temperatures in the mid-70s and ocean temperatures of 65°F during the month of March, In places like Miami, along the southern coast, the sea water is 10 degrees warmer, with an average of 75 °F and an air temperature solidly in the mid-70s.
