We can help! We have spent months in the Florida panhandle and love this beautiful stretch of the 30A beaches. Each of the small towns in this stretch of Florida is unique, and the beaches are some of the prettiest we have found in the United States.
During our last trip through Florida, we spent a ton of time enjoying the beautiful 30A beaches as well as the nearby towns making up this stretch of the amazing Florida coast. It was so fun to get to explore the different cities and see what made each town unique and special.
If you’re considering a trip to 30A or you’ve already made your plans, you are in for a real treat. These are some of the prettiest beaches we have seen in all of our travels.

Best 30A Beaches in Florida
1. Santa Rosa Beach
If you find yourself traveling to 30A, there is a good chance you could be staying at Santa Rosa Beach. The neighborhood is the largest in South Walton, and the beach, like all the beaches along 30A, Florida, are beautiful.
When staying at 30A Santa Rosa Beach, you will have very close access to the great beach, shops, food, and biking paths. In fact, this area was named one of the top 5 best beach towns by Travel + Leisure.
If you want to switch it up a bit while staying at Santa Rosa Beach, you can check out one of the three state parks, Grayton Beach State Park, Deer Lake State Park, Eden Gardens State Park, or the Point Washington State Forest.
There are a handful of public beach access points in the area, but the most popular and highly rated is the Gulfview Heights Beach Access. However, this does mean that it can get a little crowded at times. You can also check out the Choctawhatchee Bay side of Santa Rosa Beach.
Pro Tip: If you want to try and beat the crowds but don’t want to get up early, try going to the beach between 4 and 5 P.M. This is a great time because many beachgoers will leave for dinner or have already spent a while at the beach and will be heading home. After 3 P.M., there is a steady decline in traffic at the beaches of 30A.
Where to Eat in Santa Rosa Beach
There are so many great places to eat here. You will be able to eat out every day, and you will find fantastic food. Here are some of our favorites.
Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar: This is a multi-story restaurant that is right on the beach. The restaurant has thousands of great reviews with a 4.5 rating out of 5.
Goatfeathers Seafood Restaurant: Another great 30A Destin restaurant with over a thousand reviews with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5. A little cheaper option than the other two recommended restaurants.
Vue on 30a: This is a fine dining beachside restaurant with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 with almost 500 reviews. This will be a little more expensive because of its awesome location and great food.
Where to Stay in Santa Rosa Beach
There are not a lot of hotels in Santa Rosa Beach. However, there are lots of great VRBO rentals in the area. We love staying in these kinds of rentals because we have a little more space for our kids, plus we love having a kitchen!

2. Grayton Beach
Grayton Beach is a smaller and historic beach town that is very close to the upscale and popular Seaside, Florida. This area is known to be part of the South Walton 30A Beaches. This is important because the South Walton Beaches on 30A are exceptionally nice.
Grayton Beach is often ranked very highly, along with many of the other nearby South Walton Beaches. Grayton Beach State Park is adjacent to Grayton Beach.
There is an entrance fee of $5 for Grayton Beach, but it is worth it because this beach can often be less crowded than many of the other more famous and populated areas. This is a nice beach in a nice chill and smaller historic city.
Some of the best things to do here are to explore Grayton Beach State Park, visit Grayton Beer Company, and check out Captain Phil’s Charters.
Where to Eat in Grayton Beach
The Red Bar: The Red Bar is a great place to get some sweet southern foods. At the Red Bar, you will find great dinner and lunch options, along with some music.
Chiringo: The Chringo serves up Spanish-style foods with a nice laid-back atmosphere where you will get views of the water and great outdoor seating. While you are there, play a game of cornhole while eating some of the best sandwiches and foods around.
Where to Stay in Grayton Beach
You won’t find a lot of hotels in Grayton Beach, given its historical nature, but you can still find some great VRBO short-term rental options.
Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse

3. Seaside
If you want to feel like you are in the center of one of the most impressive and classy beach communities, then you need to check out Seaside 30A, Florida, and its beaches. Seaside is a resort community with an amazing Urbanist design.
All of the houses are soft pastel colored, with most being white. The area has great pavilions and access points along the beach that are very close to food, like the Airstream food truck park called Airstream Row.
This is an impressive place to visit. We didn’t stay here but spent a good amount of time exploring this beautiful place and its beaches. We thought this area was exceptionally beautiful, but it was also exceptionally crowded with middle-aged adults and their teen children.
Where to Eat in Seaside, Florida
Airstream Row: A great food truck park with a fun pavilion where your kids can play and run around or head to the very close beach and watch the sunset. There are lots of great food options here. We enjoyed eating here and exploring the area.
Great Southern Cafe: There are more great Southern seafood and Southern flare options at Great Southern Cafe. This is a great place to eat near the beach and Seaside, Fl.
Where to Stay in Seaside, Florida
Seaside has lots of VRBO and vacation rentals. If you are staying in Seaside, a vacation rental is your best option and probably your only option as there are not many resorts or hotels in Seaside.
WaterColor Inn & Resort
The WaterColor Inn & Resort is a beautiful resort with a private beach and beautiful pools. The resort is exceptional, with fantastic reviews. One of the best places you will find with everything you would want in an accommodation.

4. Prominence
Prominence in 30A is just east of Seaside and Seagrove Beach. There are four nice beach access points in Prominence, each with a different feel and accessibility. The four beach access points are Deer Lake State Park, Walton Dunes, Santa Clara, and Gulf Lakes.
Deer Lake State Park beach access is the closest beach access being only half a mile from Prominence. The parking lot is smaller, and it requires a parking fee of $3 per vehicle. The beach is another 5-minute walk from the parking area.
Walton Dunes is your second closest beach access and is an easier beach to get to than the Deer Lake Beach access. You will also find some beach services from vendors in the area.
Santa Clara Beach access is actually considered to be in Seagrove, but it is only 3.5 miles from Prominence. This access has everything from restrooms to lifeguards and ADA accommodations.
Gulf Lakes is another super close beach with some beach services, but there are not really any parking options, and there are no restrooms. This is a good beach to use if you are staying nearby.

Bruno’s Pizza: Bruno’s Pizza serves pizza, wings, salads, beer, and calzones. They offer an array of great pizza options, from your typical pizzas to awesome specialty pizza options.
The Big Chill 30A: This is a great venue with lots of outdoor activities and great outdoor dining. The Big Chill has shops and different foods. This is a place where the experience is as much fun as eating great food.

Prominence on 30A
The Prominence on 30A accommodation is close to beaches and shopping, but they also have their own restaurant onsite that serves seafood, pizza, and vegan food, along with a handful of other American food options.
The pool area is super nice, and there are multiple townhome options to choose from.

Prominence on 30A by Panhandle Getaways offers great accommodations with very high ratings. They are close to the beach, and they offer townhomes and houses with many different bedroom configurations for all types of families or couples.

5. Alys Beach
Alys Beach is a beautiful luxury beach community that makes you feel you have left and gone to a foreign country. The beautiful white homes, coupled with the beautiful white sand and emerald ocean water, offer a picturesque sight.
Staying here gives off strong Greek and Mediterranean vibes. This is a quiet and beautiful area that offers several beach access points, many of them being private for those who own homes or are staying at a vacation rental in the area. The beaches include Gulf Green, Turtle Bale, and Bela Gray.
The only public beach access point near here is going to be Winston Lane Beach Access. Some of the more popular activities at Alys Beach are the nature preserve and trail, Alys Beach Events, the beach, and exploring the beautiful shops and restaurants.

George’s At Alys Beach: This is a prime restaurant. The food is as beautiful as it is good. If you are looking for something awesome, you are going to be eating here.
Raw & Juicy: Raw and Juicy serves food on the lighter side. Here you will find smoothies coupled with breakfast and lunch options. The location is only open until 3 PM, so this is not where you will be headed for dinner. It’s a great stop before you head out shopping or to the beach.

The Pearl Hotel
Pearl Hotel is a beautiful hotel near Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach. The hotel offers a stunning space with a great relaxing atmosphere. The hotel offers spa treatment options and multiple bars and lounges.

The Village of South Walton Beach
The Village of South Walton Beach is a more economical option that is in a great location. The rooms are clean, but they are noticeably older than some of the nicer hotels and accommodations in the area.
The pool area is appealing, and you are only a short distance from the beach.

If you are looking for your own resort-style homes, the VRBO properties in this area are amazing. You can even find beautiful homes with infinity-style pools.
The all-white beauty has its own deeded beach access along with a fabulous open-concept design that will make any vacation something you will remember for years to come.

6. Rosemary Beach
Rosemary Beach is a highly exclusive beach. If you want your own space in an upscale area, Rosemary Beach is a great location. The beach is only available to those who are paying to stay in the area or those who own a residence in the area.
The entry points are gated, and you must have a code to access the beach. We like to think of this area as the whole Rosemary Beach having its own HOA. There are some parking restrictions, and permits are often required.
The beach gate codes change, and there are beach curfews, but the curfews are generally enforced for those who are under 21 and during Spring Break. This is a great area for those looking for privacy and who want great structure and, therefore, a great safe beach area.
Some things people enjoy here are 30A Farmers’ Market in the 30A Rosemary Beach Community and the Camp Helen State Park.
Where to Eat in Rosemary Beach
La Crema Tapas and Chocolate: Tapas, chocolate, and drinks are amazing by themselves, so eating at La Crema Tapas and Chocolate is triple awesome. You are not going to eat here if you are looking to have a cheap meal. You are going to eat here if you are looking for some of the best and most highly-rated food in the area.
Restaurant Paradis: The Paradis is a fine dining restaurant with lots of local foods and the finest dining options. Try their Pecan and Lobster encrusted Grouper, their rack of elk, or their Shiso Dusted Ahi Tuna. Whatever you decide to go with, you will find it delectable.
Havana Beach Bar & Grill: The Havana Beach Bar and Grill is part of the Pearl Hotel and is a more economical option than some of the other fine dining options in Rosemary. You will find a variety of foods along with rooftop dining.
Where to Stay in Rosemary Beach
If you are looking for places to stay at Rosemary Beach or many of the other exclusive private beach areas in 30A, you will find it hard to find a hotel that is close to what you want or in the vicinity so you will have access to the great private beaches.

7. WaterColor
WaterColor is a large planned community between Seaside and Grayton Beach. This residential resort community is around 500 acres and provides great amenities for those who live and stay here. Some of these great amenities are a pool, fitness center, multiple parks, multiple gardens, shopping, restaurants, and tennis courts.
The WaterColor Resort in Watercolor has been ranked by Travel & Leisure as one of the best family-friendly resorts in North America. It is also a four-diamond hotel. There are not very many of those in the area, if any.
Some of the fun things people like to do in the area are playing at the boathouse, biking or walking the trails, and of course, checking out the beaches. Don’t forget to check out some of the other nearby neighborhoods, as they all have their own unique vibe and activities.
Where to Eat in WaterColor, Florida
FOOW – Fish Out of Water: Fish Out Of Water is a great place to get some fresh seafood with a view. They have an amazing deck overlooking the water, and the food is always fresh. This is an upscale eatery, so you probably won’t want to go in your flip-flops and swimsuit to eat here.
WaterColor Beach Club Grill: The WaterColor Beach Club Grill is a high-end eatery that is in a casual location, so there is no need to get all fancy or dressed up, but you can expect some nice food plates.
Great Southern Cafe: The great southern cafe is a less expensive option for good food. It is still upscale and serves craft dishes that will make your mouth water.

8. Miramar Beach
Miramar Beach is between Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and Henderson Beach State Park, which makes it very close to Destin, Florida, and all of the great activities and Destin restaurants. There are lots of hotels, resorts, and lodging options in this area.
This beach area is going to be a more economical option than many of the private beach communities that 30A offers. Those staying in Miramar Beach will be close to a lot of tours and charters since many of these activities leave from the harbor in Destin.
Some of the popular tours and activities that you will find at Miramar Beach are the Banana Boat Ride, private guided tours, charter fishing, or a luxury yacht excursion. If you are looking for some amazing breakfast donuts, we loved Parlor Doughnuts.
Where to Eat in Miramar Beach
Parlor Doughnuts: These are great layered doughnuts. We loved getting doughnuts here. We always get too many on purpose and then eat them for the next three days because they are still delicious later.
Aegean Greek Restaurant: We loved eating great food in this area. If you spend a lot of time on the Gulf of Mexico, you will find lots and lots of seafood restaurants. If you are interested in trying something a little different than many of the other restaurants, then check out Aegean Greek Restaurant.
Fatboys – Miramar Beach FL: Fatboys is a great burger joint. They have beef, chicken, and wings. We searched for these types of restaurants after a while. You won’t find a lot of good burger joints in the area because lots of restaurants focus on good seafood. Don’t get me wrong, we love seafood, but a nice burger is sometimes awesome.
Where to Stay in Miramar Beach
There are so many places to stay in Miramar Beach. You have some nice resort options and private beach hotel options, along with some cheaper hotel options with just your basic amenities and free breakfast.
This area is nice because in Miramar Beach and nearby Destin, there are lots of hotels right on the beach.
Hotel Effie Sandestin
Hotel Effie Sandestin is a popular resort-style hotel in the area. The hotel name makes it sound like it is in Sandestin, but the address is a Miramar Beach address, and it is right on the border of Sandestin and Miramar Beach.
Highlights of the hotel are the rooftop pool, gorgeous interior, and great restaurant.

Comfort Inn Miramar Beach-Destin
The Comfort Inn is a nice economical option that gives you a nice stay for a reasonable price. You will be close to some great activities, and they offer nice updated rooms. This is a good option for a mid-grade hotel.

Quality Inn & Suites
For those looking for an economical stay, check out Quality Inn & Suites. This hotel is going to be much cheaper than your other options, but it also has some lower ratings.
It has the feel of you pay for what you get, but also keep in mind it is half the cost or more than half the cost of many of the other options.

9. Seagrove Beach
Seagrove Beach is a great area for public beach access. It is really close to the upscale Seaside, but it does not have the same private nature. Seagrove Beach is where people can go and have fun and not have to worry about where to go to the beach and if they are in a private area or not.
Seagrove Beach is a popular area for beach bonfire parties on the beautiful white sands 30A offers. If you are a family that likes to have fun and wants nice amenities but wants something that is not going to make you feel over the top, then Seagrove Beach is the place for you.
You will find a range of different architectures while the other nearby areas are highly restricted on their builds and colors that are allowed to use.
Because this area has the most public access points, you may want to check out a few of them to see if you like one better than another. Below are the access points and some short videos on each access point.
Where to Eat in Seagrove Beach
Surfing Deer: The Surfing Deer isn’t just a funny name but a great place to eat. This delicious spot is named after a local celebrity named Cube McGee, his pet deer Bambi and their love of adventure. Check them out when you are in the area.
Prema Organic Cafe: Prema Organic Cafe has meals on the healthier and lighter side, so if you are not wanting an abundance of seafood or anything heavy, then this is a great stop.
Seagrove Village Market: They serve great traditional fried seafood that the family will enjoy. Here you can get their famous tacos, seafood baskets, po-boys, or burgers.
Cafe Thirty-A: This is a casual fine-dining restaurant with a contemporary menu. You will find really great food, great service, and great hospitality.

10. Grayton Beach State Park
It is surprising how many amazing state parks Florida has. Every time we drive through Florida and 30A, we are amazed at how beautiful they are.
Grayton Beach State Park is no different. They have almost 3,000 reviews on Google and a 4.8 rating. The park is only $5 to get into, and it is always ranked very high when looking at the most beautiful beaches in the United States. You can fish, paddle, beach, explore trails, or stay at a furnished cabin. The park is around 2,000 acres and is a fun place to stay or just to visit.

Where to Eat in Grayton Beach State Park
The state park does not have many food options. But don’t fear! The great thing about these state parks in 30A is that they are very close to many restaurants and activities.
The Crackings and Roux 30A are two very different restaurants, and both are only 5 minutes away from the Grayton Beach State Park. The Crackings is where you want to go for breakfast, and the Roux 30A is where you want to go for dinner.

Stay inside Grayton Beach State Park. We love staying in the Florida State Parks. The only downside is you need to plan ahead because they are typically in high demand.
11. Dune Allen Beach
Dune Allen Beach is a small, quiet part of 30A that is just 7 minutes from the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The Dune Allen beach is quieter, with a unique mixture of older, smaller cottages and bungalows and larger new homes. It’s one of our favorite places to spend time when visiting Destin with kids.
People who stay here enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and the lakes that are around the Dune Allen Beach area. Many of the homes have lake views and ocean views because the lakes are so close to the emerald coast and sugar white sands.
People enjoy paddle boarding and exploring these coastal dune lakes and the great ocean beaches.

Stinky’s Fish Camp: A popular place to eat along a beautiful coastal dune lake. You will find surf and turf food here, along with great drinks.
98 Bar-B-Que: You won’t find a lot of BBQ places, but when you do find them, they are good. The 98 Bar-B-Que offers great award-winning BBQ and is considered one of the best BBQ places to eat in the Destin, Florida area.

Dog-Friendly 30A Beaches
There are not a lot of dog-friendly beaches in Florida, and 30A seems to follow that rule. The area is dog friendly in general, but as far as beaches go, there are not a lot of options. If you live in the area, you can get a permit that allows you to take your dog to county beaches during certain times of the day.
However, if you are not a resident, there are still beach options. Alys Beach is one of the 30A dog-friendly beaches. This is because the beach is private and therefore regulated differently. Panama City Beach, Fl, is one of the more dog-friendly beach areas with some good dog beach options. Seaside Beach is another option for beaches that allow pets.

Packing List for the 30A Beaches
Sunscreen
Sunscreen is a must at the beach. Ever since marrying a redhead, I don’t ever get sunburnt, and it is awesome, and I still get great tans. I just need to take my shirt off a bit more to have less of a farmer’s tan.
Chair with an Umbrella
A chair with an umbrella is a great way to rest your eyes when at the beach. All that sun can make it hard to relax. If you want to take an even more convenient route, consider a backpack beach chair.

Boogie Board and Beach Toys
Playing at the beach is a must. The best thing about the beach and letting the kids play with their beach toys and boogie board is they are tired out at the end of the day.
You can also expect some windy days at the beach, so bringing a beach kite is always a good idea. It is so fun to watch all of the different kites flying above the beautiful beaches.
Baby Gear
Take care of your babies and make sure you have the right gear to keep them happy with the right baby beach gear. At a minimum, it is a good idea to bring a hat, some sort of shade covering, and a few little toys for them to play with.
Umbrella or Tent
If you are not bringing your umbrella chair, then you will want an umbrella or a beach tent. They work very differently, so check them both out. Many of the tents work much better in the wind than the typical umbrella.

A few other notable beaches that people really enjoy are Inlet Beach, Seacrest Beach, and Blue Mountain Beach. I know the beaches can be the reason why people love the area, but make sure you check out the 30A towns too. The beach towns in this area are almost as stunning as the beaches.
